Goals and Objectives
Character Education::
Brothers Building Bridges will instill and promote core values and principles in the areas of conflict resolution, manners, social-emotional health, moral accountability, and civic responsibility. It is a process that will lead to young men becoming honorable members of their families and the community.
Leadership Development:
Brothers Building Bridges will support young men in the area of effective leadership. Facilitators will teach the seven pillars of leadership; vision, goal setting, persuasive communication, negotiation, team building, group dynamics, and community service.
Civic Service:
Brothers Building Bridges will emphasize to young men the importance of social responsibility. We’ll use different methods to promote a mindset that focuses
on the benefits of helping others. This will result in them building positive relationships with community leaders, peers who share a common cause, and community based organizations.
College Prep/ Career Awareness:
Brothers Building Bridges will provide information and support to students transitioning from one academic level to the next. It will culminate with college readiness training and information related to 21 century careers.
Healthy Lifestyle:
Brothers Building Bridges will promote healthy lifestyle choices and habits. Emphasis will be placed on daily exercise, nutritional eating, hygiene, balance between social and professional responsibilities, and the importance of mental and emotional stability.
