Our Vision

The Brothers Building Bridges Leadership Program is planning the development of a weekend component which will be based in a school or community center and take the young men on a retreat for 2 weekends each year. The goal is to focus on the improvement of character and the development of life skills. These young men will receive strategies and valuable information in conflict resolution, decision-making skills, self-esteem building exercises, healthy eating, and life management skills. Additionally, time will be devoted to academic support utilizing community based organizations that offer tutorial services. Youth will be expected to use their knowledge to make a positive difference in their community and the homes in which they live. They have a responsibility to learn, teach, train, and develop the next generation. We envision a day when former mentees of the Brothers Building Bridges Leadership Program will become mentors and facilitators of the program. We plan to duplicate and establish branches within the NYC Public and Charter School system.—
